Weekly DIY Roundup: Couch and Chair Re-Upholstery!
Remember Meg's how-to awhile back on DIY re-upholstery? Well I've been wanting to do some apartment revamping and I thought a chair and couch re-upholstery roundup would be cool for anyone wanting to do the same. Starting with this stenciled ikea couch and chair set by villain on ikeahacker - brilliant!

Ikeahacker also did a whole seating roundup, filled with lots of great re-upholstery jobs, like this one by June, made by sewing the new fabric onto the old:

I absolutely love this re-upholstered chair by minouette on craftster! She used a combination of new and old fabric pieces and block printed fabrics for a fantastic patchwork work of art!

And another patchwork chair, this one by Jane Schouten, was posted on Design*Sponge - it's full of gorgeous applique and embroidered details!

Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories has a great tutorial for re-upholstering a chair seat with recycled denim!

Craftzine did a piece on chair re-upholstery in issue 07, and blogged about it with a few process photos.

Mommadear on craftster posted this awesome zebra print re-upholstery job:

Curbly did a post about this re-upholstered couch with painted arm panels. The last 2 sentences sum up how I feel about so many of my own DIY projects: "It's not professional, or probably even close to correct, but it looks really nice and people can't tell that it's not store-bought. Plus, it's unique and makes me happy to look at it and know that I did it myself."

PieKnits did an amazing job with this re-upholstered settee:

Wristslapsandtoetaps on craftster shows us a fabulous way to cover up some pet damage on your couch!!

And lastly, this one is just for fun, check out Pantalaine's couch dress!

Hope that gives you some inspiration to make your not-so-interesting pieces of furniture into personalized pieces made just right for your home! And, as always, share more ideas and finished work in the comments or the forums!
