What do you do for a living? No, seriously. It's no joke...
I've been getting a sudden fear for my future...
I want to keep on doing what I like doing, which is drawing.
I don't want to live off of... a week...which is what artists make...=.="
So since in your other videos you said that you were already out of collage, what are you doing as a living?
By the way, your videos are AWESOME. I can't sew, but when I go over to my friend's house, I'm going to borrow their sewing machine. xD

Hey Bio. Nice work hun! I haven't worked off patterns because they scare me but I decided to give my daughter's dress ago. Nothing to hard but I added buttons to the back instead of a pop over and I am so cuffed. Now I can make her tops too!! Oh and me. 

Good job with the show I think you have taken on a huge responsibility after Rob and Corrine. Keep at it and ignore all the slander. If people want more they know where google is!!

Isn't this weekly?!!! It's now 15th September and this was posted 2nd. I'm sick of checking back and nothing being put up.

Yay! This is awesome! I can't wait to show my mother what I can do! (She's an expert at sewing and has wanted me to sew since I was 7 yrs.) Finally, I am taking it upon myself to start...even though it's been many many years later! Great tutorial. Everyone have a beautiful day!

I just want to give a little bit of constructive criticism, with the emphasis on CONSTRUCTIVE. Bio, you're doing a great job under difficult circumstances and, while your tutorials won't appeal to everybody, can anyone really say that they loved every single one of RCM's tutes? As ever, we're all going to pick and choose the projects that appeal to us personally.

Anyway, my only criticism, Bio, is that you're a great teacher/ tutorial giver, but you're not a brilliant presenter. Part of what made RCM as good as they were was their presenting skills. They worked from a (albeit loose) script, they worked out exactly what was happening in advance and they showed complete confidence in what they were doing. So Bio, write a script, don't say 'erm' and don't keep saying that 'this is MY way of doing it, this is just how I do it' because it takes credibility away from what you're saying. Instead just say 'this is ONE way of doing it, I find it the easiest way'. 

Just have confidence in your abilities, you're not asking people to like you, you're imparting knowledge. Just keep it to the point and you'll be laughing :)

as for the other comments, why so negative? secretlifeofabionerd does her own thing. if you want recycling videos, watch your daily thread. if you want to do more recycling, repurpose fabric from goodwill. be creative with plastic bottles on your own.

i liked this tutorial :) very versatile - you could also use it as a bodice, or add sleeves of some kind if you didn't want a tank top... someone else mentioned it already, but i also like to use newspaper when making patterns - reminds me of childhood when my grandma sewed for me - oh, and that whole recycling thing too :)

As someone who makes most pattern from existing garments, this was very informative. This is a return to the idea of the 3 Rs combined with the DIY lifestyle that I live by, and why I love this community.

I can't say that I didn't know how to do this, but it will help beginners.

I have enjoyed many of the videos from Secret Life of a Bio Nerd, but I've also been disappointed in the loss of the recycle aspect. I need to be clear here, bc many people have been harping on this subject. I have been a member of this community for quite a while and the transition has been tough and sad. There may be a bright future here; I'm starting to see that happen. 

My biggest hope is that:
1. The old pics and videos are not taken down
2. The new team continues to improve
3. The new team, above all, should take a good look at what made this community strong and try to focus on that more
I really miss the old gang, as do many of us.  The East Coast vs West Coast styles are an interesting change.

Secret Life of a Bio Nerd: You have been improving in meeting the needs of this community, keep going.

Lastly, Halloweeny How To is right around the corner. Please focus on what made this community strong. THE 3Rs… The DIY lifestyle… The phenomenal creativity that the old gang brought to the table

Nice tut!  I love to use newspaper for my pattern making.  I usually take clothes that I love and use them to trace my patterns leaving 1/4 inch all around and sketch a line where the darts would be and be sure to gather fabric at those lines.
