Nicole Richie made an appearance at the DKNY show during Merceds-Benz Fashion Week in NYC. I have to say, I adore her outfit - it's simple, yet looks dressy enough to attend most functions. I searched around for suitable patterns to use to re-create this look with minimal alterations and came up with Jalie 965 for the tank and Burda 7720 for the skirt. If the celebrity fashions are going to be this good, I can't wait to see the rest of the week!

I have never used a "real" pattern. Yes, I've created my own and made nice things from them but never in my life attempted a professional pattern. Shocking, I know. Honestly, they scared the crap out of me. There have been several times that I felt all ambitious and decided to go for it.
