Awesome pattern! Can't wait to try it. Not to nitpick, but the Knightley/Fiennes film and the word referring to female royalty is spelled D-U-C-H-E-S-S. The Dutchess is a Fergie album.
can't believe I was mentioned on threadbanger. UUBER EXCITED. ALSO amazing result and it's the first DEATH project which makes me sad because the intermediates seem hard xD.
Finally, a death level project!! VERY excited about that. I love this, and it was great to have some extra tailoring/pressing tips that really take it to the next level.
Nice to see more advanced sewing really great, like the tip about how to sew velvet, make sure you do not press down the seam with the iron, it makes the velvet pile go flat, another way to trace a pattern is to take transparent plastic wrapping roll and trace the pattern, a little more slippery, but works the same, thanks threadbanger very cool
This has been my favourite TB episode. Apparently I'm a seasoned sewer- but I have just learned SO MUCH from Kenneth. He is just amazing. I'm a sucker for Capes and velvet. At a metre I haven't worked much with it (other then corsets). I've always wanted a lush satin lined velvet cape. So I'm all over this!! Thank you so much! (And thank you for doing a much harder webisode for us seasoned sewers!)
I'm supposed to be a seasoned pro, but I never watch Kenneth that I don't learn something...and his stuff is so beautiful - great cloak - thanx for the video!
Awesome tutorial... love the cloak.
OMG you guys met rob and corrine!
For the next webisode could you guys have a special on tiny crocheted amigurumi... small very cute crocheted animals:)
thanx ciao
I agree! I would love to see some cute little crocheted aminals in a future episode.

that would be so awesome! I'm getting tired of making hats and scarves, and little animals would be a big hit with my friends.

I really enjoyed this ep. I'm not an expert sewer but this is what I'd like to be able to do in a year.
Is this one of his books, I wasn't sure since it was from 1998
Designer techniques : couture tips for home sewing / Kenneth D. King.
I've ordered it right now.
that was really informative and helpful since I have a lot of satin and I didn't know how to prevent it from slipping when i sew it. That was a pretty good ep, I dont think it would be rated a "death" though. HAH, corrin looks great in the cloak!
fantastic show!!! the tutorial was hella informative and it came at just the right time. I have to work on costumes for FaerieWorlds and trying to recreate some costumes patterns from a friend's project was frustrating without taking it apart. This is awesome! thank you thank you!!
Kenneth King is a very special Man. He is rare. His devotion and dedication to write his books and make Cd's on pattern techniques is to be commended in this industry.
Thank you Kenneth for giving us your time and techniques.

Holycow!! I read Kenneth King's articles in Threads all the time! That's so cool he agreed to do your show! I'm not surprised his tutorial was rated 'Death!' hahaha
Yeey! Thanks for replying to the request! This is such a lovely cloak!
The tutorial was not as difficult as I thought it would be, now I just need to look for a huge piece of fabric! lol
Thanks again, love you guys!
AMAGAWD YOU GOT ROB 'N CORINNE!!! :D
Usually they're sooo snobbish at the red carpet, I can't believe they actually talked to you guys!
Anyhoo the tutorial was great! Good to see a tutorial with a worse-than-death rating every once in a while.
Wow, thanks! It's nice to see some tailoring techniques implemented. Being self taught it's hard to find good tutorials that include tailoring and other finer sewing techniques (especially videos because I'm a visual learner this was nice). I will definitely be buying that mans book!

That tut was a little long for me (a person who would probably die trying to make it) but this was my general impression of the show:
ROB!! Without a hat!! Wow!
Loved this episode. Your cloak turned out great. I'm totally inspired to make one myself. Have a good weekend Rob, Corinne and everyone else behind the scenes.
