would like to learn more on diy tights and/or leggings. the ones i get off the rack end up riding from ankel length to calf. im five foot eleven inches.

this was great. saw a lot of people getting hung up on the details of darts and hems etc... i think the beauty of this projects is that recycled clothing projects and patchwork lend themselves to leave some loose ends. it adds to the feel of the look.

After watching this a couple of times, I think I have to agree with the crowd; this was complicated stuff. I think this IS a beginner project, but the way it was described, it was just dang confusing. I sorta wonder if there were things you forgot to add, because there was a point where I went, "Hey, when did they stitch that on? What is that? Are they different materials? How would you wash it? Did you hem that?" ARGH! Too many questions need answering, and I'm afraid that I can't work it out. Maybe you could redo this one???? It really is complicating . . . And yes, I know I comment often; I like making stuff, so I have lots of questions about it!

Wheather you are a fan of patchwork or not, it was very creative, well constructed and the instructions were clear. Even if I hated patchwork I would appreciate the creativity and work that went into designing the original format. The way she was able to basically do this tut off the cuff was great because it showed that you don't have to be a famous designer to do this and that there are endless possibilities with this basic design. If this dress was not something I would wear, I would take the basic instructions and create something of my own taste. But I love that dress! XD

I LOVED Joanne's creativity with all the fabrics she used and how easy she mae it all look. Her assistant Michael looks like a big help to her too.

i was trying to figure out the details before i started. like what kind of fabric to use, or any other tips from other ppl who did it. reading the comments kind of discouraged me from trying. im broke n not letting the fabric i have go to waste. maybe you should try it yourself and give some help cuz it looks like fun. thanks!!!!!

The clothes in the pictures were nice, but this tutorial seemed kinda made up on the spot. When the title said jumper, I thought the episode was going to be on those rompers and overall shorts that are popping up. You guys should totally show us how to make some onesies.

OK, I've sewn for over 40 years, I teach fashion and sewing at bothe the high school and college level and I am horrified with her, "mark a dart on both sides and sew them." 1. If you've never done a dart you can end up with pointy boobs. 2. If you don't mark on one side and copy exactly on the other, you will be lopsided. This NO WAY is a beginning sewing project.

I'm love struck by this project. Can't wait to try it out!

I'm inspired to attempt to make a men's t-shirt using a similar process (hmmm... Custo Barcelona, anyone?)... don't have a serger, or a dressform (men's dressforms are hard to come by!) but a single needle machine could still do it... (straight stitch once, then zig zag the seam allowances. It's not as quick... but gets the job done... Great ideas!

this is cool but i have a request could threadbanger make acceroires for people like maybe belts or sashes for dresses or clutchs ohh that'd be soo cool... anyone else with me?

While this is definitely an easy project (raw edges, no single needle just serger) more explanation was needed. Especially for newbies. Definitely needed to be a longer video to show more details in the process. Fairly easy to follow until she starts explaining about getting the A-line on the skirt. Would have been nice to actually see what she was talking about. She had many different weights of fabric with and without stretch. Need a little explanation about how to choose the right pieces that will go together to get great results.

I like the final look, but i agree with some who say this isn't really a project for beginners. and i am just sorry i don't have an overlock sewing machine like that. :(

I appreciate how you keep the videos short, but i find this very hard to follow. I would have rated this higher since you seem to need to have the knowlage of the tools and tricks she's using to fully understand and follow this. i still enjoyed watching it tho!

I'm thinking anyone with a bust bigger than a B would have great troubles pulling this over their heads and the neck opening definitely would not clear anyone's hips to pull it up from your feet. I would add a 20" zipper in the side seam. Also, I think loosening your upper thread and tightening your bobin thread is what gathered the fabric. The gathering feet I've seen are more complex...

I like the idea...but this is super confusing to follow, how are you suppose to make this? I would rate this as difficult

Its awesome! I love subversive couture! (Just got to know what it is but Im already in love with it!) And she's got an overlocker! I wanna have one too! We had it at school, its just as much fun as a smashin' (= sewing machine)! My 'First Ever Garment' was overlocked, not sewn LOL! (If you dont tell, I wont) :P

I would love to see something about making a cropped jacket. Ive found one online that is insanely expensive. I loved the high collar and the cropped style, but I dont have that much money and I would rather have something that is unique to me. so if you could do something easy on the wallet and wicked cool like your other projects, that would be AMAZING!!

i couldnt e-mail it failed. but i wrote this here some things i wouldn't mine seeing on threadbanger that i think a lot of us would enjoy always t-shirt recons, never can have enough of those. i really wanna see the t-shirt to sweater or... a vest, different form the one posted before, a more girly one? or... any thing that falls in with most student dress codes. and i haven't seen many jeans/denim recons, pants arent cheap. what can we do with them when they get to big or small? beside a skirt. {you can put fake tattoos on your jeans, and put a couple of thin layers of clear nail polish on it i did that one before.} how to jazz up a old bag? or binder? maybe. maybe some jewlary recons. i have ton of ideas and request but i'll stop here. *snip snip*

I'll have to get back to watching previous episodes for more ideas ;) This is my light at the end of the tunnel....Between taking care of my daughter and the sewing machine that keeps crapping out on me, I'm finding it really hard to get things done.
