this year I happen to be moving on halloween! But, if I wasn't i was planning on wearing what i wore for costume day at my school during spirit week: a 1920's flapper! I had everything in my house; but i used a straight line black dress, paired with black fishnets and black character shoes. yet!!! i needed more! so i added a stretchy sequence "ribbon" and bobbi pinned around my head/hair and added a white feather. I couldn't of course forget the pearls, so i added several layers of different length pearls. To finish it off, i put on some red lip stick! It was fabulous! photos:

I'm not sure which..but I laughed in awe when you threw out the zombie bit. also we are all being Super this year with some simple white t's I picked up and am Sharpie-ing a superman esque logo on the front and simple sparkly/shimmery/metalicy capes in every one's fav color (and there's 6 of us now so that's a LOT of capes!!)

So. This is my last Halloween here in my home town, and I really want to do something SUPER original. SOoooooo...I was inspired by all the Steampunk builds you and the guys as Indy Mogul put together. Long story short - I'm trying to go along the lines of doing a steampunk comic book super hero/villain. As far as a brand (Marvel or DC), I've picked 1 character from each: Venom and Batman. As far as a Venom costume...I'm basically conceptualizing the whole thing, but I need some help to make a faux-leather FULL faced mask: something along the lines of this mask found here, just simpler: - http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/gadgetlab/spmask.jpg ALSO. I'm trying to make this cool looking Victorian cape/coat thing. So far, I have an old trench coat (purchased at my local thrift shop) and I've already cut the sleeves off leaving around 1 inch of fabric around the seams. I might go for a repeat performance of Amy Winehouse. My friends LOVED my costume last year. I even faked having coke all over my face, and the piercing! (Eyelash glue, flour and a bead). hey guys! i've decided to make my own Peter Pan costume this year! i've borrowed my grandmas hat she bought in austria when she was 20 and it looks great as a peter pan hat and all i have to do is stick a red feather in it!

i have no idea what i wanna be this year last year my friends and i were each a Batman character i was Poisin ivy and my boyfriend was two face i was thinking about going as sally Jupiter and my boyfriend be the comedian (or Dr. Manhattan) from from the graphic novel Watchmen i'm not sure yet.... the story between those two would make the party's interesting to anyone who'd dress up as the silk spectre lol

I am making a really neat American Indian Costume. You can see a preview of the headdress on my blog @ PrettyPrettyPirate.blogspot.com I am also wearing a leather dress I found at a thrift store that is in the "native american" style. I Dyed it brown because it was originally a wacky mauve color. I can't wait to see it all come together. Great job on the Michael Jackson Idea, I think I might have to make myself a coat with lots of belts, for everyday wear. :)
