Easy Crochet Headband for Winter, Threadbanger Projects

this is WAY cool! Following steps and trying to make one! The hat one was way hard for me lolls

I made this last night, my first crochet project, and it turned out amazing! Thanks so much!

in responce to Lotta I just wanted to say that there are different techniquies to crochetting in america the one they showed is one way and the one you described is another. my mother taught me the way you described and i do find it easier that how corrine did it but everyone has their own way that works for them and that's what matters

I just don't get the American way of knitting and crocheting, where you use the left hand and wrap the thread around the needle or hook for each stitch. It is so awkward and takes so much longer than just using the needle or hook to just pick up the thread (which you hold tight around your left index finger) and pull it straight through to form a new stitch. That is how everybody does it here in Norway where we have long, long knitting and crocheting traditions - We got to keep warm, you know... :) Beside that, this headband is super cute. I just made myself three new ones too, one knitted and the other two sewn from some scraps from some sweaters I re-designed into a new dress/tunic and a new skirt. The turtleneck from old turtleneck sweaters is perfect to make quick headbands from! And with some scraps it's quick to make a wool rose/brooch, button or bow to decorate it. I've made some wool knit roses now and sort of got hooked on those, as they're easy to make and turn out super beautiful. I posted a comment under the braid headband video about how I make a rose and a wool knit button, so if somebody are interested, go there to look. Unfortunately I can't make videos, but it would be great if somebody else tried out my explanation and made a video for ThreadBanger about it so more can enjoy making these super cute fun projects... :) If you have questions, if something I said in my explanation is unclear, please post a question, I'll try to keep an eye on the thread for a while.

I tried it, and I found it very difficult to just tie the bow on, so I used a yarn needle to sew mine on. ^_^ turned out alright but not bad as well.

Can anyone tell where can i get vedio tutorial on wrist warmers.thnx

I just have one tiny suggestion. Instead of making knots at the end. It's best to just weave in the tails. I was told countless times not to make knots in the fabric when knitting or crocheting.

How do you crochet? I looked for a tutotial on threadbanger, but there was none

for when closing the ends instead of using the crochet hook a yarn needle is a lot faster and easier and they are extremely cheap i got a pack of 25 for .50 at a craft store

Very cute, but the black yarn makes the project difficult to see the details as you assemble it.

Would be much easier and faster if you would not wrap the string around the stick, but get the string with the stick by turning it a bit.

Great project, but... you forgot the chain 1 at the end of each row. On single crochet you have to chain one at the end of each row and then begin your new row in the 2nd chain from the hook  ;)   Love this project.

I love you guys!  Show idea: Can you do a diy orthotic?  I mean, is it possible to make something that will make super stylish shoes really comfortable?  That way you can buy cheap or used shoes (or even pull some from the back of the closet) and wear them without killing your feet?  Another idea:  How about a way to take super comfy shoes and fix them up into super stylish?  I am talking about high heels and boots here, not sneakers.  OR... how about a way to make some kind of changeable shoe cover or something out of fabric that will take one pair of really comfy shoes and enable you to change it into several looks to match all those stylish outfits you teach us to make.  My biggest problem is that my adorable outfits are always screwed up by ugly shoes because I need comfortable feet, and comfy shoes are too expensive to buy more than one really good pair.  Thanks!

I just started crotcheting.. so I'll defintely try the headband. I'm using a similar pattern to make bracelets and I use the ponpon to make brooches, but I only use 1 cardboard disk.

OMG you have inspired me to start crocheting again. I used to make wonderful, long, outrageous scarves and granny square blankets for friends, but I stopped doing it for a few years and was afraid to take it up again because of arthritis...but u convinced me that with a big hook and a small project, I cd still do it.
