Does this burn the cups in any way?

Looks real nice. :] Seems to cut off too much light though and make it appear too dim. You may want to use LED or CFL bulbs too. Standard 100w bulbs will probably melt the plastic.

Fantastic idea! You've really inspired me to make some light fixtures for my kids' rooms. I see princess pink cups and maybe some blue ones for a "planet". Great job ;)

Wow, this really goes with the painted walls in the room you put it in.  The room has like and underwater scene in it.  Those cups look like bulbs, very cool.  Perfect fit for your room's decor.  Nice job!

yea...just an addition.  I made one of these when i was a kid and if you get a woodburner or something and poke holes in the middle of the bottom of the cups then...you can put christmas lights in it poking out that hole.  so them you will have a plastic cup christmas light thing that you can plug up where ever.  i hope...that made sense. if not just hit me up and ill explain it further for you :)

my aunt has a christmas decoration similar to this.. it's made out of the plastic cups, but with a strand (or two) or multi colored christmas lights somehow wound throughout the center with a light poking through the bottom of each cup.. it's really neat. i've always wanted to know how she made it... 

and now, thanks to this tut, i have a pretty good idea! awesome!
