End of an Era

Really appreciated all the videos and I only found ThreadBanger a few months ago but I've enjoyed it intensely and I've grown attached quickly to you guys. I'll miss you and I hope you have a great life and amazing adventures! I wish you the best and you are all an inspiration. Thanks so much and God bless you all.

I don't know why I just found this video, but it explains the host swap. To be honest, Threadbanger is a bit lack luster without Rob, Corinne and Meg. I find that the new material, well, uninteresting and something that not do-able for most. It almost seems like an audition for Project Runway. (Complete with Mood fabrics!) Sorry Bionerd, you had monstrous shoes to fill, but I think you need a dozen or so extra socks. :-\

I am going on threadbanger strike. no rob no corinne no meg makes for a cranky crafter. maybe just maybe next time rob and corinne, and meg's bosses will realise what they have..... hmmmm makes me want to be a threadbanger hater.

I like bionerd but still I feel her style is just too mainstream and not original. The stuff she teaches seem like you can just buy it in the store in better quailty. The older cast on the other hand just seem to teach stuff you can't buy and create your own style. there is a bing different also the name thread bangers seem to fit more with the older cast.

I just watched a couple of the latest threadbanger videos on youtube. I don't know what happened behind the scenes at threadbanger (corporate takeover perhaps?) and no offense to bionerd who seems nice enough but Rob, Corinne and Meg  threadbanger. They made the videos addictive. They did. Them. Watching now is like watching a sad, empty, hollow shell of what used to be.
Rob, Corinne and Meg's hosting, if the end was unavoidable, should have ended with an awesome finale. They deserved at least that much. So did all their loyal followers. For a DIY network that's supposed to be all about style, their transition away from threadbanger had none.

This is super unfair. i just found u guys like a month ago and was super excited about getting into DIY with ur help. Nothing against the bionerd but its just not that great. Wow, i barely know u and i'm already missing u...

no affence to the bionerd but ive been on strike and havent been sewing at all since the REAL threadbanger left. now i hate threadbanger its soo boring, sewing and being a threadhead was one of the only ways i could express myself as a 6th grader

No offense, but secretlifeofabionerd is not even close to being good as you guys were.  Not only does she only do girly girl stuff, but the tutorials just sucks.  No more janome sewing machine contests, interviews, projects or fun...I am missing you guys so much.  I hope you get a sponsor for a new show or something.  By the way, best wishes with the engagement you guys, I knew that was bound to happen sooner or later!

Sorry to see you go, you have gotten me thru some major insomnia.  I watch Life of a Bio Nerd on Youtube for a while now so this will still be the place I spend my late late nights

All of you at Threadbanger are the reason why I started DIYing and crafting and sewing again. You inspired me to get creative again and I thank you for all the time and effort you put in your work here on the site. While your videos will most certainly be missed, I understand that sometimes its imperitive to move in a different direction. Take care you guys!

This really sucks.  I have not been back to ThreadBanger since I see the End of an Era Video...until now...I was quite disappointed...Threadbanger for real will be missed I can't comment on what is happing now because I have not bothered to look...and I'm keep'n it that way! LOL

I am so sad.  If ever there was a blog that really reflected real urban culture, re-purposing with gritty street smarts, Corrine and Rob were there.

hey guys, i've been following you awesome peeps for 3 years now and you've been the most inspiring bunch of people ever! So sad to see you go and will miss you guys so much. I guess the only thing left now is the amazing bunch of re-runs! I just had to say thank you. I can remember when I first saw Threadbanger when you guys were just starting out, and thinking to myself; "Oh my God! There are people out there like me!" People who actually care about the Earth, and are creative, and kind, and long for a sense of community. It was beautiful, and wonderful, and gave me back a sense of hope I hadn't had since I was a kid. No matter the reason why it had to end, I want you guys to know: nothing, will ever take that away from me, and the others like me, that the three of you have touched. As corny as that sounds, it's still true. Whatever your next venture will be, I for one (and I know of many) will have your back and follow. I look forwards to what you guys have brewing, so get those endearing shiny un-shed tears out of your eyes and get crafty people! lol Keep your head up, you've made a lot of friends, and you've managed to make me proud of my generation.

Guys... all good things must come to an end!! I have been watching since you started and without watching your shows I wouldn't have started my 2 refashion labels ...MooBear Designs and Over It! soon to be 3 in Australia. You showed me that my love for the planet and the people we share it with can be expressed in all forms of DIY!!

wow i just logged on for the first time in 5 weeks because ive been out of the country. i was so excited to see some new videos, i must say this was disappointing.. but im excited for you guys and your new adventures.  

you have inspired me so much, i cant even tell you.  thank you guys for the work and the love you put into the show

Wow..... I don't really know what else to say. You guys were the reason I dusted off my grandma's old sewing machine. You're the reason I make my own clothes and accessories. To see you guys leave... It makes me feel incomplete somehow....

I've only been following you guys for about a year, but you guys have taught many so many techniques to use. I can honestly say that you guys taught me how to sew, how to not be afraid of doing something different, and how to release my inner designer. Your episodes made me laugh, and to see you go.... I can't do anything but cry. It just breaks my heart.

And Meg, what on earth would my bedroom look like if I had never watched your episodes? Probably boring white walls, dusty curtains, and some old Christmas lights. Certainly not the rad look I have now.

You guys have literally changed my life. I'll never think of the fabric store as some place old ladies go to. The artists you featured inspired me, and I know I'll keep your episodes on my iPod for as long as it still works. I never had enough time to really get involved with the forum, but now I wish I had. 

I'm sure that whatever the reason was for leaving, it was pretty important for all 3 of you to leave. I shall still try and follow you wherever you may go. I love you guys, and for as long as I live, I will always be a threadhead. *snip snip*

I just wanted to tell Rob, Corinne and Meg just how much I am thankful for having been able to view your program on youtube and threadbanger.  You made my bed rest during pregnancy bearable and helped me with the going and comings of being a new mom.  You all inspired me.  For a little over 3 years you have been my source for inspiration. There are no words of thanks that are good enough to give.  In my most humblest sigh  (sniffle sniffle, cough cough) I am sorry to see you go and hope that where ever the wind blows you we will see you all again.  Writing screen plays, Designing homes (nest) to be lived in and designing and dressing a world of people who love the environment.  So in the words that you all have taught me Use it up, make it do, and who needs to do without when you can DO IT YOURSELF!!! Bye for now but not forever.

I find it interesting that very little thought for the community (one video) was put forth. Some of us knew when Rob left that it was on it's way out the door but I don't think a lot of other people caught that vibe. I also found that the irreverent "Wassa Goin On?" was a foreshadowing of what was REALLY going on. Im not sure how you can replace a recycle/ reuse type of show with glittery fingernails?? The people really only wanted you three. Not a couple that wears ugly glasses and spews profanity or a bio nerd.  (Actually no offence to the bio nerd girl she seems nice.) Sorry I just get frustrated when things are managed poorly. And this, this was managed pretty poorly.

You guys have been such an inspiration to me- I started sewing clothes since two summers ago, and I haven't stopped since (I can't!). I even started a DIY Club with my friend at school just to spread the DIY spirit and help the community. So, sewing has become a major part of my life, so much that I'm considering doing it in college! Needless to say, thank you so, so incredibly much for making ThreadBanger videos and inspiring us to do DIY! You have touched the lives of so many people, so peace out and we'll miss you all so much.

Sad! I've been following Threadbanger since the early days. It was a great source of inspiration. Now that Rob, Corinne and Meg are moving on, I think that it's time for me to move on too since I don't care for trendy fashion. Good luck and happiness in the future!

OH MY GOSH I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!  I haven't been able to use my computer and have been so bored and when I could go on I went strait to Threadbanger, and I was so excited to see what else they put on. I saw this video and CRIED. I will miss you guys SO MUCH!!!!!!! I love watching these videos because they inspire me to make things and I just love them all! I will miss you so much!

I can't believe this.  I am tearing up.   I knew this once coming the minute Rob left and that Vainglorious show started.   It smelled very corporate to me.  Yet I'm still shocked because I wanted it all to just be some crazy conspiracy theory of mine.   

I have been watching the show since about the 7th episode.  I can't believe I was lucky enough to find such great inspiration the very minute I got into sewing.  I have  learned so much from you guys.  I can't even begin to explain how much you have inspired me. I   will miss you and can only hope that one day while I'm out walking the streets of Brooklyn, I am lucky enough to bump into one of you.

I remember watching your cool how-tos and actually doing them! You are truly inspirational and just plain awesome. It was when you did an iron-on transfer of the Adbusters flag when I knew you guys were the absolute best and coolest. Good luck in all your endeavors, and thanks for all the great videos! I've watched your trio from back in the days when the show was just beginning. I've been inspired over the years to empower myself and my friends to craft. Not being satisfied with the usual fare sold at stores, I peruse ETSY and Threadbanger for inspiration. At that unfortunately brings me to my rant. Sorry to sound negative but. . . 
I am very disappointed in the choice thus far being that it seems the show has lost its edge, lost its message and is headed for mediocrity. Some folks may be inspired by designer knock offs and makeup tutorials (those same people watch the Kardashians I am sure) but what happens to the local artists and designers that no longer share the spot light? I fully supported Threadbangers and Decor it Yourself's indi attitude. It showcased real people. I only hope that the channel gets steered back to its local DIY roots otherwise I will be signing off after three years of eager viewing and discussion.

Ok I am a young girl who found out about Threadbanger somewhere around six months ago (when I learned to sew) and it showed me and taught me how to be myself and be able to express myself. I became so addicted that I would check the site for updates like every three hours. All my friends thought I was freak for sewing at such a young age. I didn't care though cause it was so fun. Now I can't do that anymore. I won't have a site to check every three hours. But I understand things don't last forever......Thanks for the greatest six months ever.

i found threadbanger about a year ago and was watching every new episode since. i learned to deal with the english  sewing language (i am from germany) just to be able to follow the episodes.
i got so much inspiration from you.(for exemple i organised a sew- in and d.i.y. clothes day at my place)
and now threadbanger becomes another place for fancy handbags, make up tips and how to look like some stupid celebrities....

i really liked threadbanger being about recycling clothes, environment friendlyness, not that much gender shit (no "pink for the girls and blue for the boys" etc.). it was a really inspiering project about d.i.y.

I haven't been very active in the Threadbanger forums, but this show has had such an impact on me.
Rob & Corrine took me from a chic who was intimidated by sewing machines but had a lot of passion for fashion,
to someone whose started their own clothing line and now runs their own business!
And Meg! If my clothes were going to look fly, I'd need an equally fly looking home. Thanks for that. :)

I really don't know how to start...
Rob, Corinne and Meg; you inspired me to stop loitering in my room and actually get up to MAKE stuff. I live in Germany and DIY is not so big here, in fact people who create their own things are frequently made fun of. Crafting supplies are hard to get here, so I especially liked how you showed us to make stuff with things we already have at home in most cases. I enjoyed each and every episode, whatever you were showing, because I just loved your special humor and the way you were somehow close to your viewers. You were so different from all the other DIY shows I know. 
When I watched this, I really started to cry. I will miss you so bad. SecretLifeOfABioNerd is quite good, but she can't replace you. 

 I wish you all the best for your future, I'm sure you all have great plans, and I will think of you.

I was planning on making this in a video but I don’t own a good webcam nor would I know how to make a video and what’s the point if you guys don’t work here anymore. I’m a pretty normal guy from the countryside of the Netherlands and people here still wear clogs and nobody really cares about fashion. Don’t get me wrong it a nice place to live and because this is the Netherlands people are still very tolerant and open minded.  But I wanted to know more about fashion I saw cool programs like Project catwalk and I wanted that. I wanted to be a part of fashion, and be creative be myself in a way. But there was nothing I could find in the neighborhood or  in town that could help me something simple that could crack the door of fashion open. So I would know if fashion is something for me. Because I’m not gay or extremely extravagant I’m just a average Joe that likes fashion. But one day while I was desperately searching the web for a simple tutorial I fond you guys Corrine, Rob and Meg. I checked threadbanger almost on a daily bases to check for new clips for the last two years now. And you guys always helped me keep fashion in my mind and see that it’s not only for shallow people with lots of cash in their pockets but for everyone that wants to be a part of it. I just finished my course International Business Studies at my local community college and I just got accepted into the Amsterdam Fashion Institute to study Fashion Management  in Amsterdam. 
To get accepted I had to do a full assessment test, a presentation and two personal interviews one with a teacher and one with a student. Which I all passed with flying colors proving Fashion is something I am good at. Before you guys I wouldn’t even have considered going there I would probably be intimidated and think that a school like that is only for gay men and women no normal guy would go to a school like that. I use to get embarrassed when I bought a fashion magazine and the cashier asked me if it’s a gift for my girlfriend, now I proudly say no its not its mine!
I’m a lot more confided these days about my life choices and that’s because I had help from the 3 coolest most amazing people on the web Rob, Corrine and Meg. I am moving to Amsterdam and I am so grateful for the help you guys gave me.

Firstly I would like to thank you for all you have given my sister and I.  We have been big fans since your first year of threadbanger, and even when I went away to university, my sister and I would call each other up and talk about the newest episode and what we were going to make next!  You gave us home, inspiration, instruction! and a community for our weird, sewing-sandanista alter-egos to belong to.  You really made this somewhere where people could just make weird, ugly, beautiful and fun stuff without judging or questioning.  
Right after I saw this final video, I looked below and started reading the comments, and just seeing the number of people you effected really makes me see how you all changed the world in your small way.  I often find that although you may not see it, the average person may need help just as much as a person obviously in need, and to me, that is what you all have done.  You have helped the average person fighting to be themselves, and wear uncool things to high school, and express themselves how they wanted to.  You also made so many people aware of the importance of DIY, environmentalism and non-consumerism, and encouraged  informed choices about the products we buy and use. The ongoing support that your shows gave every week helped, i think, to reinforce that message, and I thank you for everything.

Wow, this is pretty tragic. Threadbanger has inspired me to be exactly who I am today, myself. You guys have totally inspired tons of people just like me, I'm sure. We're all sad to see you go, and we're all gonna miss our "snip-snips". Good luck to you all in whatever you're moving on to. threadbanger was for me a sign leading me through an era of my life. you always showed me that im not alone, makin my own cheap stuff and being proud of it. and when youre gone a part of my life is somehow missing...

Sorry to hear about this but it had to end someday I know you guys have good reasons to stop posting videos . I will still miss you guys and all the wonderful tutorials you guys have put on the site over the years. You have inspired me to learn new techniques and create new stuff I could have never created without your help

I'm disappointed in Threadbanger. Although you may have your reasons for leaving, it's terribly irresponsible to leave and put SecretLifeOfABioNerd in charge of everything so suddenly. Because of this sudden change, BioNerd has to deal with a mob of angry Threadheads on her own. If she was added to Threadbanger a month before this announcement, I'm sure she would not have gotten the ugly greeting she was given by the Threadbanger community.

I hope that the show wasn't canceled or thrown out anything... but if it was, whoever did that can suck it.
I will miss Threadbanger so much! I can't even say how many great projects and ideas I've gotten out of the videos and how I love the welcoming community. Thankfully the forums will still be up. I hope that Rob, Corrine, and Meg all find great new paths and that Bionerd does well with her new position!!

This like broke my heart :'( I love SecretLifeOfABionerd but things wont be the same without you here.I am so sad to see you guys go. I appreciate your love and dedication to contributing your ideas to the world.  I came across this site not even liking sewing and here i am today... i adore it. This is a place were i felt like i really belonged , you guys brougfht so many people together. I will miss your faces. this is such a shock i was so over come with emotions that i brust into tears and my sisters tried to console me. you are like a family, and i dont understand why your going away, and i wish you could of had a fairwell show .But i wish you well in all that you do. I am sooo upset and i feel like theres a whole in my heart but in time i know the wounds will heal.Wow 3 years and its all over i feel like there is so much more that could be done . I will miss Rob I miss you Corinne i will miss you Meg., :(

I emailed a few times about this but i guess u've been pretty swamped they might have gotten lost amongst the "OMG where are you?" emails. 

If you could please send back the Items i sent in that got misplaced and never made it to auction that would be great.  I sent in my favorite handspuns and I'd really like them back.

I can't tell how sad I am for seeing you go. Let's be honest, although the style & beauty shows are cool, they are not Threadbanger-core (you will not see there epic stuff like the ninja mittens or the scoodie) and without you guys there won't be Threadbanger anymore.
I hope you can keep the videos and the website up, so we can go back to them wether to look up a tutorial or just for when we miss you.
I've been watching you since I discovered you tutorial on screenprinting and I got hooked instantly. I wish you all the luck in the world with your new endeavours, you guys deserve all the best and I feel very happy that you shared with us all the fun you had and the little tidbits of your life (when you moved to NY, when you got a new office, etc.).
