Wow! I make a lot of jewelery and need a TON of beed. This is so cool! Thanks!
i want to know if you guys can do a show on stuff to make for your room. it would be great to know how to make cusions and stuff! (i also have alot of old socks what can i do with them?)
That was pretty bad ass. looks really cool with other beads.
Wow that's really cool! Not my style though. I like things more flashy and bright and childish. :]
But still really nice to know for maybe when I'm older!
You guys are great.
You can also use a coffee straw to keep the hole open because the glue will not stick to plastic. For a change, make the same style of bead out of fabric and add curly Q's with bead wire.
Hm...I wonder if this'd also work with little fabric scraps? I bet it would! Hrrm.
My friend and i used to do this during the summer. It's a great way to use old catalogs and things. To reinforce them we added clear or sparkly nail polish on the outside
I remember doing this in Jr High with all my Teen Beat and YM magazines lol
cute and totally awesome way to recycle!! i see a rainy day activity!!
wow- i loved this, and cant wait to get started!
Cool, but what happens if it rains? or if you sweat a lot? How do you deal with moisture damage - id really hate to put that much effort into something and have it get destroyed easily.
Would you reccomend any kind of varnish or paint-on material that would add some water/moisture resistance? How about normal paint varnish, just a light coat to preserve the beads?
Thanks!
Becca, great idea! I love it, *goes get old magazines*
thanks for posting this! i've made 2 so far!
Sorry I don't know where to ask this, but is there an archive for the newsletters you send out? I subscribed to them, but my email server trashed them, and some things that are in your newsletter I am unable to find in your site and I don't want to miss on any neat stuff. Thanks.

Hey this is an awesome site.
I just cut my hair for locks of love this organization that takes people's hair and turns it into wigs for kids with cancer. So even though it is my second time donating my hair is shorter than ever, above the shoulders, can I diy something to do with it.
Try making beads with brown paper grocery bags. They look like wood. Use some white glue and a brush to really wet them down with glue. You can even put some clear acrylic finish on them. Haven't tried staining them, but I would expect that you could water down some burnt sienna or burnt umber paint and use that.
the big beads can be used to make a giant waistlace haha,or a belt
This has made me the happiest girl on earth! I love necklaces like this! Woohoo! The nail polish was a slightly stinky, but GREAT idea! Thanks boomfly.
bellissimo.. i love www.threadbanger.com

My Grandma used to make these beads out of old strips of wall paper. It made them strong and you just used water to stick them together!
