I'm starting to wonder if I should make a video tutorial on how, now... I just haven't exactly had much experience with cutting hair.

it is called a poutfit and is a hoodie skirt...you cannot see the skirt part in the episode. it is very futuristic looking and soft. i really like it. i actually bought it from the Honey Pot in Asheville, NC and you can see the ower of the store model it on this episode:

Count me among those who'd love to be able to make a hoodie like the one Corinne's wearing in this episode!

  • Holly wrote on December 7, 8:51 pm

I like the hood thing that Corinne's wearing too, but I could never wear one of those, since it'd remind me of the headscarves the arabic girls wore at my middle school... (I lived in Dearborn, Michigan... Yeah.) And I always felt bad for them since they had to wear them... Erg sorry, rambling.
    Cool episode, though, you two.

  • Lemiece Zarka wrote in reply on December 9, 1:09 am

You know, we're not forced to wear our hijabs (that's what they are called) everything is a choice. It's actually kinda cool wearing one. it allows me to attach a hood to everything without it looking weird. (b/c the place i pin it is hidden) XD. but yea. don't feel bad!

I have always loved threadbanger episodes, and have always left positive comments; however, cutting your own hair is the dumbest thing I have heard off. Shaving your own head, or trimming your bangs, okay, but hair cuts? Think about this, hairdressers never cut their own hair, and they know how to do it.

Maybe you could use some of your DIY magic(seeing as you're called the DIY gods around here) and tell me how to fix it? Please?

Say any chance of showing how we can make a fun SANTA type Hat out of some round the house materials, or maybe some cool fireplace gift stockings made from old retro t-shirts or jeans? ANY DIY tips for wrapping paper? My mom used to save the Sunday comics for months and use that because it was colorful...whats your take? L8R -Steve C

  • kate (anon) wrote in reply on December 9, 4:44 am

I like to wrap with paper grocery bags and then cut sponges into a shape and stamp over the bags. =) Like you could cut a sponge into a christmas tree shape and one into a star and then make little trees and stars all along the paper...

  • capitalistdegrande wrote in reply on December 12, 8:29 am

you can make awesome wrapping paper with:
    1. grease proof wax baking paper
    2. anything you want, flower petals, leaves, small scraps of material
    3. your iron
just put one sheet wax side up, add your filling and place sheet wax face down, now just iron.
the wax will fuse and the stuff in side will show through, it looks really cool, can you guys put this on the show PLEASE!!

  • Your Mantras wrote on December 9, 5:53 pm

Hey guys I came upon your site about two weeks ago and already saw ALL the episodes. I am from the states, but my hubby was stationed in South Korea in May, and I don't have much to do here. I did check out the Arts and Crafts shop on the Army base and they had models, ceramics, and RC Cars, and have already tried my hand at the ceramics. I did bring my scrapbook supplies, but I have tried my hand at other "crafty" things-crochet, beading, drawing, quilling. ANYWAYS, I never have tried my hand at sewing or knitting for that matter, and I saw the basic how to for knitting. I went out the next day on a search for a pair of knitting needles and some yarn. Let me tell ya, not the easiest thing to find here-at least for me. (Scrapbooking stuff is even harder to find, as it is not popular or it hasn't caught on here in S.K.) Well, it worked! I am almost done with making myself a scarf! LOL Nothing fancy and it really looks crude, but hey I tried it and I made it myself and I guess that's what's supposed to count, right? Anyways, you guys also aired a show from Sublime Stitching and I ordered the STITCH IT KIT by Jenny Hart. I just love her style! I can't wait 'til I go back to the states to go see all the Austin Craft Mafia stores, I was living in Killeen before I moved to Korea!!!! (I'm looking at ordering stuff online now and having it shipped here.) I figured I'd try my hand at that as well:0) Thanks for all the creativity you guys really are an inspiration!!!!

Hey Guys, I'm new to the sewing world but I'm very excited about recycling clothing and creating new and exciting stuff. I'm looking to buy a new sewing machine. Which brand do you suggest and should I start out with a basic machine or purchase one with a lot of extras? Thanks for your imput. Love the tutorials.

  • Raphaelle wrote on December 12, 2:27 pm

So, I have pretty long curly hair and haven't gotten a haircut since the summertime. *sheepish smile* I decided that since I just wanted a basic trim to get rid of the split ends and fix up the long layers it couldn't be that difficult. After seeing this show I felt brave enough to try; I could always get a butchered job fixed (though the whole point for me is to save money!). So this morning I washed my hair and layer by layer, just piling the extra hair on top of my head and keeping it there with a clip, I snipped my way to a nice cut! It turned out fine and I saved myself $25! As always, thanks for the inspiration.

  • pamphyila wrote on December 12, 3:33 pm

Cutting your own hair requires nerves of steel and a sharp pair of scissors. I used to trim my own hair for years - and I still find my "correcting" cuts on my own...Try trimming first so you get the hang of it. I used to trim the back of my hair by putting it up with a flat barette and cutting across, trimming the desired length and then taking down my hair and straightening out. Also, I found a good tip for side hair in a fashion mag years ago - twirl your hair and then cut it for an uneven edge - You can also twirl your bangs together in the middle of your forehead and then cut them to trim them (& they will end up more or less in a good shape). (I also color my own hair using regular hydrogen peroxide for highlights, then shampooing with a combination of red/blonde colored shampoo and leaving it on under a shower cap in the bath for 10-20 mins. Works great and got a compliment from a prof. hair stylist just the other day. They can't figure out how I do it. It's gradual and CHEAP and relatively hypoallergenic.) Good luck!
