Awesome episode... I love that batboy t-shirt!

(But then again, who IS batboy?)

  • Justinsuperstar wrote on February 23, 5:16 pm

AttackedByCats- Batboy is a legendary half bat, half boy creature that appeared on those silly black and white paranormal newspapers they sell at supermarkets. Ironically enough, if he were real he too would be attacked by cats.

  • pixieapproved wrote on February 23, 7:56 pm

i think batboy actually eats cats...

  • corinne wrote on February 23, 7:59 pm

wait a minute...batboy is not real??!!
    all these years...

  • AttackedByCats wrote on February 23, 9:28 pm

I looked him up on Wikipedia (an unreliable resource, but who cares?), and instantly I realized where he was originated. Those supermarket tabloids are hard to miss.

  • AttackedByCats wrote on February 23, 9:29 pm

Also, I use parentheses waaaaay too much.

  • emilgh wrote on February 24, 12:10 am

Batboy was also the name of a musical that ran off-broadway. ...and Weekly World News was the "supermarket newspaper" that originally reported Batboy.

Loved the episode guys. Definitely picked up a few tips. Can't wait to see more! :)

  • corinne wrote on February 24, 11:57 am

a friend told me he knows the woman who invented botboy and that she got shafted by the popular weekly paper when they continually used the image and she never got paid for it....
that's what i was told...but you didn't hear it from me.
btw, i love the use of parentheses (i had to keep referring back to attackedbycats' post to actually be able to spell "parentheses")
i use the .... approach myself.

  • AttackedByCats wrote on February 24, 6:40 pm

Um... didn't a guy invent batboy? I think his name is Dick Kulpa.

  • corinne wrote on February 24, 10:19 pm

lesson for today kids...always check your facts.

You guys rock! I can't wait to see more!! Oh, and I have an idea I'd like to run by you, more to come!

I'm also tired of the grunge look, and that whole Seattle garage-band flannel raver trance mosh-pit thing. And punk, I'm tired of that too, and new wave, with their narrow ties. And disco, and heavy metal, and acid rock, and love-ins and be-ins and key-parties and mop-tops and sock-hops. Tired of it all.

I like this show. It is very entertaining. Much appreciated. :)

I think I would have liked to see the worlds fattest baby done by stencil too- but batboy is a great one too!
I love those papers by the way. My first introduction to "real" news. My Grandmother swore by it all. No wonder I go to therapy!

  • pixieapproved wrote on April 10, 2:24 am

that's so funny. i used to love to go to my grandma's to read all the gossip mags...

I'm new to Thread Bangers (so i am watching every episode to get caught up...)
I came here hoping for some low-budget costume ideas (that means i found out about you through IndyMogul.com)
    Ok enough of the spam...
    I have a question.
On the Shirts do you Hand Wash Every time or can i throw it in the wash after the first few hand washes?
I have a lovely Jones Fu Fu Berry Button Up that i made for a friend...and i need to know if Machine wash will ruin it...before i give it to her...(i don't want her Random gift to be too much of a hassle...)

and by the way...(I like the dot-dot-dot/parenthesis approach)

normally i would freak out on the guy that says "cut out all the black".

  • Minorpunk56 wrote on February 13, 3:01 pm

When I saw images of Bat Boy as a child on such as the National Enquirer, I was terrified for months. I wouldn't sit at my desk coz I thought he was hiding underneath and was going to eat me.
