Compai, T shirt reconstruction, DIY book series 99 ways, Thread Heads

you know, i just was thinking to myself that i would have to do something with my old sweatshirt. It's not old, but it's big, and it makes me look like 20 lbs. heavier than i am. I kept wearing it because it's comfy, but holy freaking crap, now i can turn it into a neato shirt! thanks!!!

I would have added a belt to the center of the jacket so it would fit better

I must add, I just finished a 20 foot chain of dook for moi self: belt, necklace, and now a coiled hattie that may or may not require a neck brace to wear. I can lighten the load, I just don't want to as of today because of the dook effect that is so piled high on mein head.  Total FUN! and all thanks to Compai. Annie

Hi, I have to say that I love this site and came upon it by accident. I am new at sewing and would love to try different things and have been shopping at thrift stores to do over old clothes. I would like to know where are your books available? Where can I purchase them? I always love new ideas and would love to try some new things. I just got a new Fender Dtarcaster Guitar and the fabric case for the guitar is just a plain clack and I really want to personalize it and really spice it up but have no idea whatsoever of how to do so! If Rob n Corrine can put up a show for that I would be sothankful! 
P.S. It would be really awesome if one of TB's crafty fashionistar could put up a trian or whatever in the post area for it it would be awesome too. Thankz!

Could you do an episode on crazy japanese fashions? If you dont know what Im talking about, google "harajuko". I think thats what its called.

I loved this idea but the final product still looked a little droopy so when I did it I also tightened the seams on the sides of the sweatshirt.

...should also be known as 99 ways to save the planet, one stitch at a time.  I love the way old ways come around again.  My grandparents passed away a couple years ago and among their many things from their beginnings way up in the Northwest Territories were several handcrafted tools from old tincans, bits of wood crates and canvas; Christmas ornaments from old nails and tincans; and some really old toys made from all the same stuff!

Hey I want to know If you guys can do a show on what to do with old button up shirts. I've already took one of my dad's old shirts and tailored it (with the pinch and pin method) and made it to fit me. But is there anything else I can do? 

68Lbs of clothes a year? That's insane! I bet i don't trash more than 8Lbs. 
All my clothes get donated. All my jeans have been saved for a larger project in the future. Some become craft scraps and any clothes not worth donating are torn into strips for rags lol. 
MY sorta motto-ish way is not to waste what can be used again for something else..... developed from my poor farming grandmother's habits.

Love it love it love it!!!! I have a ton of old sweaters I could try that on!!!

dear threadbanger i was very disappointed watching some of your videos. i absolutely luv the idea. they're pretty, unique and well awesome... but unfortunatly i am a freshman in highschool living in a decently small room, so i have 4 dilema's i would appreciate some assistance with... 1) i don't really have space for fabric, a machine, a sewing table, dress form, and so on and so on.
2) i don't really have the money for all of the above
3) i don't have a car and my mom and dad work full time so oppurtunities to get them to drive all the way to the craft stores are low and the public transportation where i live SUCKS and to top it all off the closest craft store to my house is 30 minutes by car, so it's hard to just run to the store for all of the supplies you use. 
4) i like ot reuse old t-shirts but the only ones i have that i don't as is are ones i've grown out of and most of the how -toos just make them smaller of the same size...

PLEASE, PLEASE make a limited resource friendly episode... or just keep it in mind when making other episodes.

some advice on how to do my own sweeny todd type thing would b great cuz that was the 1 i really missed out on =(

It turned out lovely! I loved sweatshirts when I was a teenager, because they were shapeless. Now I've become more girly, but I still have those sweaties (I just couldn't get rid of them). Thanks to you and the Compai ladies I know what to do with them.
