It's better to make the eyeletes with a very sharp pencil that has a simalar color to the fabric so as not to rip thread and then so it won't fray.

for making holes for the eyelets you can also use a seam ripper, and use button holes for threading the ribbon through, a seam ripper will usually stop at the side of the button hole.

Thats not a corset! there's no bones in it. jeez. that's not going to hold anything in and yes that would work with chinese silk. would look nicer if it was all boned though!

What happens to the stencils after the video ages?  Do they vanish forever never to be seen again?  I have looked all up and down the extras page and have been unable to locate them.  Am I blind or have they gone into the great nothingness?

What are the mesurments you need i can't seem to find them. Please help me.

im probably gonna do this corset (in red of course) and then im making it so that its like permantly laced in the front.  and ill put a zipper in the back. im making it the top for my reniassance dress.  but ima put the zipper in the back so i dont have to worry about anything coming undone while im at the fair.

I think you should do an episode on sketching your creation ans then making it come to life. Maybe gert a really good sketch artist on the show and show us different ways to draw faces and body types, and hands, please help! i have got so many books but i need someone to show me how not in a book, i am a visual learner, please help!

Rob you looked like Flava-Flav minus the giant clock around his neck, whats up w/ that? Oh and the scrolling messages on the bottom are VERY DISTRACTING!!! This is not CNN, if you're going to scroll anything, scroll tips that accompany the project you're working on, otherwise its an eyesore and a turn off to try and focus on an already complicated project but then to try and not focus on scrolling text...bad idea! Otherwise, you guys rock...see you in LA.

You guys just reminded me how much you inspired me that first time I came across your wonderful show. Everytime I watch start itching to sew again! Thank you and 'Happy Valentines!'

You know how much I love you guys.  But really, I wish you would have referred to it as a "corset-style top" or something.  In my opinion even those lace up things with plastic boning are still just corset style bustiers.  A real, modern corset has steel boning.  A corset shapes your waist..not just covers what's there but actually gives you a more defined waist.  I think what you guys did is really cute, but just because it laces up does not a corset make.  Sorry to be nitpicky but it's always been one of my pet peeves, and especially after working in a store that sells real, steel-boned corsets, it's frustrating to constantly explain the difference to people.  (Also because of the price difference...real corsets are usually fairly pricey because there's a lot that goes into the construction.  I know a trained seamstress/costumer/corset who doesn't even make them herself.  I know that she CAN but she hates to because it's so time-consuming.)

well when he spray painted that shirt did he use spray paint and if he did wouldn't it rub off in the washer

alright, so with great anticipation, my husband and i watched the announcement of the janome sewing machine winner.  much to our dismay, we didn't win it, but my daughter's clip from our video made the episode.  it's the black and white video of the 4 year old saying, 'please give us the showing machine'.  that was awesome.  congrats to matthew for winning.

I was going to make some boxers for the guy, but I didn't wanna have to go out and buy that Simplicity 9958. Due to my procrastinatory (yes, now a word) nature, I may have to wait until his birthday, but now I'll have extra time to sneakily get those measurements and make a shorter, girlier pair for me!

the corset pattern was mega cool.  if i made that nobody at school would have one, especially if i used a funky pattern.

YAY! A guy won the sewing machine. That's so cool. 

After years of wenching I can tell you, you need to add boning (from the notions wall) to the front of a corset. Put it between the gromits (eyelets) and the front seam line. You wouldn't want to have a "wardrobe malfunction". Also, it is easier to close a turning space if you put it on a straight place in the seam and not at the coroner. Don't eat to many chocolates.
