Worn Out: Street Style Picks
Hey guys! Here are my top 5 picks from the last couple of weeks of street style blogging - be sure to agree/disagree/shout out your current favorite fashion blogs in the comments section...

With the holiday season UPON US, I was way drawn to the party-appropriateness of these three looks. The photo at left (from a November 16 post to Wardrobe Remix by flickr user birthday everyday!, via bits and bobbins), for all its sequins and shine, is surprisingly unfussy. I love it when people manage an outfit that screams both PARTY and COMFORT, because it's not an easy trick. The couple at right (from a November 5 post at Hel-Looks) are also celebration-ready, though a bit more formally. They're both sharply dressed, and in a way that really complements the other. Neither his slightly-off (in a good way!) suit nor her tough-but-pretty ensemble vie for attention, but they both can certainly stand alone. And maybe most importantly. they've completely avoided breaking one of the Cardinal Rules - never, under any circumstances, dress to match your significant other.

My next two picks are both from Face Hunter - the left from a November 13 post, the right from November 22. The look at left is a spot-on 1920s impression; were she in colder climates I'd put money on that outfit being wrapped up perfectly with a little cloche and muff. And that fan is killing me! So ladylike. The outfit at right also has vintage leanings, but she's styled her inspiration in a far more modern way. The dress and color scheme are pure Victorian (Picnic at Hanging Rock, anyone?), but her hemline and cheeky accessories (the glasses-necklace and plastic heart bracelet are cute x infinity - but not cloyingly so.) do a great job of keeping things fun and light. I'd like to sneak into the wardrobes of both these girls...
