Worn Out: Street Style Picks
Hey guys! Here are my top 5 favorite pictures from the street style blogosphere last week. Use that comments section to chime in with "hit" or "miss" and shout out what fashion blogs - street style or otherwise - you check daily.

The pic at left, from a January 19 post at Garance Dore, is a glimpse at what's coming up trend-wise for Spring. I'm so digging the rolled trousers (shades of last Spring/Summer, no?) and while I'm not 100% on board with the whole shoulder pad revival, they lend such an interest point to the outfit that I may actually have to figure out how to DIY that shape into a blouse or two of my own. Whether or not they'll make it out of my house and onto the street is To Be Determined...While the first outfit is totally unattainable (because of current weather conditions) I liked the photo at right, from a January 15 post at The Sartorialist, because not only is it SEASONAL but it, too, jumps ahead a bit to Summer. Crisp, white denim is certainly not the first thing that comes to mind when I'm putting together a cold-weather outfit, but the muted, military tones of the rest of his pieces give the pants new meaning. This is Winter casual, done sharp.

My next two favorite outfits are from, again, The Sartorialist (left, from a January 19 post) and (at right, from a January 21 post) AltaMira NYC. I found these two looks so similar: each a bit twee but given quite a personal twist. The left-hand look is as snuggly and colorful as all get out but the "cute" factor is tempered by expert layering and very fashion-forward shapes - cozy, yes, but the cuts and color-combos lean a bit more "avant-garde" than "crafty." The photo at right also starts out soft and cozy - the knit upper half of the dress, a cute plaid scarf - but the clean lines and ladylike herringbone pattern of the tights keep things in the realm of romantic simplicity. A very pretty Winter look - which, as we all know, isn't the easiest thing to pull off in your day-to-day.
