Celebrity DIY Style: Giambattista Valli Voluminous Dress

I adore retro fashions - especially those that have close fitting bodices and flaired skirts. If a petticoat is required (for that extra flare), that's even better in my book. So you can only imagine that when I saw Marisa Tomei and Diane Kruger wearing these vintage styled dresses, I had to find out more. Although Giambattista Valli designed their voluminous look, you can pull this style off for yourself with Vogue 1084 by eliminating the 'cowl' neckline, lengthening the sleeves to 3/4, and adding a crinoline under the skirt. For a more modern take on this retro look, you could also try Vogue 8020. This design eliminates the sleeves, drops the waistline, and gives you the option of adding pleats to you final design. No matter which one you chose, you're bound to look fabulous!
