Best Dollar Store Crafts of the Week 04/09

Check out some of the best Dollar Store Crafts from this week!
I am challenging myself to Make Something Cool Everyday in April (with only stuff from my dollar store stash), so it's been a supercrafty week for me. It's been really fun to know that every day I have to make SOMETHING.
Menko Pendant: $1
I found this cool Menko card in a set at Daiso, the Japanese dollar store and made it into a unique pendant.
Inspired by a few projects online in which people made skirts for their toddlers out of dish towels, I thought I'd try my hand at making a pair of shorts for my son using a dish towel. One of my favorite things about dollar store crafting is taking an existing item and making it into something totally different. I'm not much of a designer, but it makes me feel like I'm participating in my own private Project Runway challenge. (I know, points would be deducted on PR for using something fabric-like as, gasp, fabric!)
Inspired by the most popular dollar store crafts post of all time, reader Michelle was inspired to recycle a soda bottle into a convenient holder for her iPod. Also included in this post are tips for working with recycled soda bottles.
