Grist says "Screw Earth Day!"
The "beacon-in-the-smog" green website Grist has launched a controversial campaign message that has actually got us thinking. For the record, "Screw Earth Day" means that acting eco-friendly "is not about a single day," it’s about living that way every day, says Grist press. That's something Threadbanger can agree with and really gets at why we want to make fashion into a continually green, consistently eco-conscious art.
"One day is for amateurs," says Grist, and that's why they're offering an exclusive free download of their award-winning book Wake Up and Smell the Planet to encourage continued attention to green action. All you have to do is register for a Grist account (also free!) between April 9-23. You'll also be entered for a chance to win tickets and airfare for two to the 2009 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee June 11-14.
As for Grist's everyday-earth-day message, as well as the impending Earth Day holiday, Threadbanger says, "right on!" Check out Grist's Screw Earth Day tips #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 for more advice on how to make every day Earth Day.
