Weekly DIY Roundup: Pens, Pencils, and Cases!
One more back-to-school roundup for you this week! I've found a bunch of crafty ideas for pens, pencils, cases, and desk holders for those of you heading to school, or with kids in school, or who just like to carry pens in your bag!
First, Diane Gilleland's supercool pen cozy tutorial on Craftstylish, made with a spool-knitted I-cord!

Check out this awesome how-to on photojojo for photo pencils!! And, they "guarantee you’ll be the coolest kid on your block. (Well, you know, the coolest kid that has photo pencils.)" I love photojojo!

This one isn't in English, but marie claire idees has free downloadable pencil cover graphics. Pretty self-explanatory so it's alright if you can't read it; plus, you can use the dimensions of their pictures to create your own pencil cover designs!

And now onto cases - there are a ton of pencil case tutorials out there! I love this one by Pink Penguin, with a super detailed how-to, and it looks like a fantastic project for using up leftover fabric pieces!

Craft Chi always comes up with such brilliant crafty ideas, and there's no exception when it comes to pencil cases! She shows us how to make this super creative tube case from a recycled mailing tube!

Craftlog has a simple tutorial for this great little case - I like the centered zipper making it unique!

And speaking of unique, check out Skip to my Lou's Capri Sun pencil case! Love it!

If you want to more sturdy case, Ric-Rac gives us a detailed tutorial on making one from vinyl, and isn't the phone graphic cute?

If you have a kid heading to school, check out Crafty Daisies' pencil case made using a drawing by her daughter:

And if you or someone you know is a huge Star Wars fan, here's a tutorial for lightsaber pencil holders on starwars.com!

For those of you with desks in need of some DIY organization, get inspired by How About Orange's soup can pencil cup. I really love the circles design!!

And wow, Craft Chi brings us yet another fantastic tutorial with this recycled CD case desk organizer, which also shows us how to do a tape transfer!

Lastly, I just have to share a couple amazing pencil jewelry items I've come across. These earrings by .tomate d'epingles. on flickr are so flipping awesome, and you could totally make your own with some basic earring bases and glue!

And this one wouldn't be so possible to make yourself, but it's so pretty to look at! Sharpening necklace by Victoria Mason:

Ok I hope I inspired you to be DIY-tastic with your school supplies! And be sure to post more ideas in the comments or the forums!
