Weekly DIY Roundup: Household Cleaners!
I think the start of a new season is a good time to do some cleaning, which is what I've been doing a bunch of lately. I've been wanting to try making some DIY cleaning solutions, like Meg showed us on Decor It Yourself back at the beginning of Spring, so I thought I'd round up some recipes and tutorials here for anyone else wanting to do some Fall cleaning.
I'm sure there will be lots of overlapping in these formulas, but I've found several spots with lists of solution recipes, starting with The {New New} York Etsy Street Team's DIY green cleaning products post, which includes of multi-taskers and some simple recipes.
Then we have care2's healthy & green living How to Make a Non-Toxic Cleaning Kit, which includes directions for mold killers, furniture polish, deodorizer, and a bunch more.
The Green Guide has a great article with a list of eight essential ingredients and three more pages of all kinds of recipes.
About.com gives us a Natural Household Cleaning Products page, with recipes for microwave cleaner, bathtub/shower cleaner, and more.
Eartheasy has a super thorough list of formulas for Non-Toxic Home Cleaning, very helpful!
Leaving Excess blog did a great series of posts on homemade cleaners, including posts on laundry, kitchen, bathroom, and carpet specific cleaners.
Apartment Therapy Re-Nest posted a nice, simple list of natural cleaning solutions.
And a few more specific finds... DIY Life has a tutorial for homemade household cleaning wipes, which "smell better, are cheaper, and are generally free of harsh chemicals."
Recipe Zaar shares instructions for a jewelry cleaner, which uses dish detergent and a couple natural ingredients.
Lastly, goodmama shows us how to make wool dryer balls with some wool yarn scraps, awesome!

Hope this helps your house to be cleaner, less toxic, and more DIY! Of course, feel free to share any more ideas or links with us all in the comments.
