One "color" that was EVERYWHERE on both the current Fall/Winter runways and in the upcoming Spring 09 shows was actually a neutral - NUDE made as much of a statement as any pop color of the last few seasons. It served as a nod to minimalism in hyper-detailed, ultrafemme looks (like at Rodarte, above left), as well as a reminder of the feminine in tougher, more androgynous outfits (a la Alexander Wang, right). I'm planning on taking on this trend STAT, and am already on the lookout for all things camel-colored and flesh-toned when at the thrift stores. And while the DIY possibilities (as always) are endless, I can't stop thinking about thrifting up as many light-colored, wooden necklaces as possible, busting out the scissors and string, and creating my very own nude version of another huge Fall trend: the statement necklace...
