Give a Girl a Chance

"Earlier in the year, PONO partnered with Give a Girl a Chance, a Feminenza Global Program formed in 2006 aimed at assisting Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) devoted to the rescue and rehabilitation of the victims of female genital mutilation. In short, to give the two million women who undergo this practice and are deprived of opportunities and education a chance; a chance to succeed, a chance to move on, a chance for something better. Staffed entirely by volunteers, Give a Girl a Chance seeks to remedy the current imbalance of opportunity for women and girls limited by financial resources and cultural restrictions, creating pathways to new opportunities in any way possible."

The Climate Project

"As environmental awareness is at the core of the PONO philosophy, it was not that big of a leap for us to team up with Al Gore's The Climate Project through our Save the Planet line of horn bangles and dogtags, with ten percent of the sales going to the group. Begun in 2006, The Climate Project is a group that is powered by volunteers traveling our country, presenting Gore's notorious Power Point presentation on global warming and empowering audiences to become more cognizant of climate change and realize their own role in altering the course of the planet"

Natural Resources Defense Council

"In 1970, The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) was founded by a groups of law students and attorneys as a non-profit organization with the mission to "...establish sustainability and good stewardship of the Earth as [the] central ethical imperative of human society." They have been called the most effective environmental action organization in the nation. Using the law, science, and a membership of over one million individuals, this group was recently named as one of America's 100 best charities."
